How well do you listen to the word of God when it speaks? Are you indifferent to it? Shallow in your response? Distracted by other things? Or do you receive and do the word of God as commanded?

We live in a world surrounded by death, and feels like at times that death has won the final victory. That it will inevitably claim and destroy everything. And it feels like God either isn't doing anything, or doesn't care enough to do anything. But Jesus' miracle here shows us that Jesus is both caring in our suffering, and able to defeat our greatest and final enemy.
