Has the church of Christ lost it's zeal for God? Have we embraces a consumerist, lazy Christianity, rather than the fervent and zealous one our Lord calls us to? In this sermon we look at the dangers of passivity, and Paul's command to be fervent in Spirit. 

Sermon #3 - Faithful and Fruitful - The Mortification of Sin - Romans 8:13, Colossians 3:1-17

Sin is terrible. Like a disease, it will corrupt, blind, and inhibit us in our walk with the Lord. If we are to be faithful and fruitful, we must, by the Spirit, put to death the sin that still remains in our life. In this sermon we talk about WHY we must do that, and HOW we do that, so that we can be the servants God calls us to. 

Sermon #2 - Faithful and Fruitful - Abiding Through Devotion to the Intake of God’s Word - John 15:1-5

As we look at walking faithfully and fruitfully for the Lord, the place we need to start is our relationship with the Lord. Jesus says we can do NOTHING apart from him, and therefore we must Abide in him. Specifically, abide in him by his word. For this sermon we look at how we can practically do that better.

We constantly see the phrase in Scripture "Walk worthy of your calling"... What does that mean? Why should we be diligent to obey it? And how do we actually accomplish that as sinful human beings?

The Bible speaks of Christians as living in exile. The Bible also speaks of this current world as a type of "Babylon"... Therefore, a good place for us to go as Christians to know how we ought to live is to the Israelites times in exile in Babylon. In this sermon we look at Jeremiah's instructions to the exiles, and how we can thrive and multiply in exile. 

Luke 24:36-53 – Veni, Vidi, Vici - April 19, 2026

I came. I saw. I conquered. Those were the famous words spoken by Julius Caesar, but that more properly apply to the Lord Jesus Christ. He came into this world with a mission: To conquer sin, death, and the evil one, and now, having completed that, he ascends back to heaven to receive his crown. But before then, he has a mission for his people to finish before he comes again. 

Luke 24:13-35 – The Revealed Christ - April 12, 2026

Jesus makes several "post resurrection" appearances, and in this sermon we look at his appearance to two disciples on the Road to Emmaus. Why Jesus chooses them, we don't know. But what we do know, is that he strategically reveals himself, and it changes their lives forever. And the same is true of us as we follow Christ today. 

Luke 23:26-56 - God Sovereignly brings Unexpected Good - April 3, 2026 - Good Friday - Zachary Taylor

This crucifixion of Christ and the events surrounding it have a resounding message: God Sovereignly brings unexpected good out of situations that appear to be the opposite. In this sermon, Zac shows how God's is soveriegnly working in all things for his glory and our good.
